Title - `Open more rail ticket counters’ - The New Indian Express

A writ plea for a direction to the Southern Railway to open more ticket counters in all the railway stations in the State has been made in the Madras High Court.

The first bench comprising Chief Justice MY Eqbal and Justice TS Sivagtnanam, before which the public interest writ petition from advocate S Sathia Chandran of Thambu Chetty Street came up for hearing today, directed him to serve the copies of the affidavits to the railway officials concerned.

The petitioner submitted that long queues in front of the ticket counters were common sight.  He sent a representation to the authorities concerned on June 12 last. But, there was no response, petitioner said.
